Our verdict on the CASARTE CAS25CC1/R3-С

Casarte is China’s heavyweight luxury marque owned by Haier. In China it’s a status brand that affluent buyers use to replace an entire suite of home appliances; in Russia it’s trying to claim the premium spot that has opened up. The Velato series name translates from Italian as “muted, veiled,” and the lineup colors are designed around that idea—“blue glaze,” “black agate,” “silver quartz.” Our review unit is the blue version; the indoor unit is a little over a meter wide. Retail price is 155 thousand rubles for a 25 m² room. This is Casarte’s true super-flagship.

Visually, the indoor unit impresses with its plastic finish: a smudge-prone “glossy depth” with a thin substrate under the clear coat; to the touch, it feels premium. On the sides there’s silver trim and a decorative lower strip with diffusers—its purpose isn’t really explained by the manufacturer. Up top sits a dedicated fresh-air intake module with its own grille, an external air duct, and a filter.

The technical package is about as fully loaded as the market gets. Line length up to 30 m, height difference up to 15 m, heating down to −30 °C with manual defrost start and adjustable defrost frequency—effectively a full-fledged heat pump. Efficiency is A+++. Wi‑Fi via the EVO app with servers in Russia, plus integration with Alice and Salute. Warranty is 7 years on the unit and 10 years on the compressor—and the compressor here, as the brand itself states on its website homepage, is a Mitsubishi Electric SB8120F with an EEV. Air cleaning is a serious program: a PM 0.3 µm particle filter (essentially professional-grade filtration), freeze-cleaning of the heat exchanger and hot-air sterilization up to 56 °C, plus the included fragrance module with a dropper and replaceable Vanilla Garden fluid.

Controls include a two-zone “climate control”: the left and right louver sections can be set to different angles, producing a three-stream airflow. The remote is large, with a color backlit screen and Russian-language labels. The on-unit display is small and not very informative—for a 155-thousand-ruble product, that’s a missed opportunity.

We checked service with a separate call to the Casarte hotline: the operator picks up in under 10 seconds, speaks directly without an IVR maze, and confirms that mandatory scheduled maintenance is not required to keep the warranty (the brand only recommends service every six months). In the premium segment, that’s exactly the part people pay extra for.

On noise, the unit measured 31.1 dB at minimum speed—quiet, though not “Japanese” quiet. Casarte’s twist is that at the same time it pushes a noticeably stronger airflow (1.9 m/s on the quiet setting) than competitors that quote 22 dB figures—meaning it’s quiet “for real,” not by simply cutting fan RPM to the bone.

The internal engineering is the biggest surprise. The copper is 7 mm; the indoor heat exchanger is a two-row coil, 18 loops at 66 cm each, with a surface area of 0.52 m². For comparison, the average air conditioner in last season’s sample measured 0.24 m². The outdoor unit is just as lavish: the pan heater is laid out neatly, insulation quality is high, and the compressor is plumbed like an industrial unit—with receivers and an EEV. The copper surface area of the outdoor heat exchanger is 1.1 m². This is only the second air conditioner in our measurement history to clear the “one square meter” mark. Vibration is 0.17, excellent for such a large unit. The air conditioner passed the LATR test calmly with 100 V at the input.

Bottom line on Casarte Velato: it’s genuine super-premium, not a “brand markup.” For 155 thousand, the buyer gets a Mitsubishi Electric compressor, record-breaking heat exchangers, PM 0.3 µm filtration, a fragrance module, heating down to −30 °C, a premium warranty package, and service that actually works. Weak spots include the vague mini display, lack of a presence sensor (especially frustrating given the two-zone control), noise right on the boundary between “quiet” and “ultra-luxury,” a terrible Chinese-to-Russian manual translation, and the questionable decorative lower section. We recommend it to those for whom the premium segment is about service and substance rather than the Daikin or Mitsubishi Electric name on the casing.

«This is only the second air conditioner in the history of our measurements whose outdoor heat-exchanger copper surface area has crossed the one-square-meter mark. And it’s not marketing “eco” talk—it’s a Mitsubishi Electric compressor, heating down to minus thirty, and filtration at a professional level.»Редакция «Август-Климат»
