HVAC Market News #33: missing “standards,” factory shares, and a conversation with Roman Fedorov

In the thirty-third episode, we collected news from China, Germany, Denmark, Norway, Uzbekistan, and the United States: Gree declared itself the leader in industrial air conditioners in China, the legendary fan manufacturer ebm-papst was sold to an American holding company, Haier launched the first mobile air-conditioner showroom in Moscow, and in Denmark, heat pump sales doubled in a quarter. Plus a new segment—Georgy Litvinchuk’s answers to viewers’ questions: factory shares in the Russian market, the share of OEM brands, and why

The episode’s guest is Roman Fedorov, a practicing HVAC technician from Moscow, author of the YouTube channel “Air Conditioners and Roman Fedorov,” and a hands-on training instructor at the OVKS academy. His main point: standard installations in Moscow have been declining for the second year in a row, and it is not about the weather or the price—those who wanted and could install an air conditioner have already done so. The work has shifted toward repairs, new builds, ventilation, and complex non-standard jobs, and equipment sales have fallen along with it: a complex site takes several days, and fewer air conditioners are sold per day.

Roman also walked through the practical side with us: the three most common screw-ups made by other installers, how often you actually need to wash an air conditioner, and why he does not believe in air conditioners with fresh-air intake. And we also ran our AI live with a question about topping up refrigerant—the guest’s verdict: the answer is correct.
