Panasonic unveils the revolutionary Aquarea EcoFlex heat pump

Presentation at MCE 2026

Panasonic Heating & Cooling Solutions unveiled the revolutionary Aquarea EcoFlex heat pump during the Mostra Convegno Expocomfort 2026 exhibition in Milan, held from 24 to 27 March. The premiere took place in Hall 5, at stand A29/C12. The information publication date is 9 April 2026.

Next-generation hybrid system

The system is a hybrid heat pump combining air-to-water and air-to-air technologies, and is designed for low-emission heating, cooling, and domestic hot water preparation. The unit operates with up to three air-to-air indoor units, such as wall-mounted Etherea or ducted units, and one air-to-water unit with a DHW tank.

EcoFlex delivers stable operation even at temperatures down to –25°C and is compatible with the Panasonic Comfort Cloud app for remote control, including schedules, DHW monitoring, and the nanoe™ X function. In addition, integration with Aquarea Service Cloud allows installers to perform remote diagnostics.

Key technologies and benefits

  • 📌 Heat recovery — enables simultaneous space cooling and DHW tank heating by using the heat rejected by the outdoor unit, which increases energy efficiency and eliminates additional energy consumption.
  • 📌 bi-heating function — ensures independent or simultaneous operation of air-to-water and air-to-air heating, adapting the system to different buildings.
  • 📌 Continuous heating — guarantees comfort even during defrost cycles, unlike traditional solutions.
  • 📌 nanoe™ X technology — available in Etherea and ducted units, improves air quality by reducing bacteria, viruses, mould, and odours around the clock.
  • 📌 Compact modular design — makes flexible installation easier.
