Chinese home appliance maker TCL has opened an air conditioner plant in Guangzhou. Investment in the project reached $290 million, and the annual capacity of the facility is 8 million units. The site is located in a low-carbon industrial park covering 303 acres.

Sustainability and energy saving
The facility is equipped with 50,000 sq m of solar panels and an AI-based energy management system. The production process is organised with almost zero waste and emissions. Energy management algorithms ensure high resource efficiency.
Artificial intelligence and robotics
The plant houses a supercomputing data centre with more than 2,000 AI agents and a high-density network of industrial robots. Its lines include an ultra-precision heat exchanger line where AI algorithms raised operational efficiency by 41.7%.
A landmark event and a statement from the management
The opening ceremony coincided with celebrating the 100 millionth TCL air conditioner produced since 2021. Du Juan, CEO of TCL Industries Holdings, noted that this milestone reflects the trust of customers worldwide. She stressed the company's commitment to improving quality of life through AI and smart technology, and to advancing sustainability through energy-saving solutions and eco-friendly design.
