Carrier marks Earth Day with a major milestone: 1 million trees planted toward a goal of 5 million by 2030

Reaching the 1 million trees milestone

Carrier Global Corporation celebrated Earth Day by announcing progress toward its commitment to plant 5 million trees by 2030. In partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation, the company reached a landmark by funding 1 009 514 trees in 2025.

Sustainability program

The initiative is part of the program “For the air we breathe and the world we share.” It focuses on nature-based solutions to improve air quality, restore habitats, and increase climate resilience in environmentally degraded areas.

Projects in the first year of the five-year plan

2025 became the first year of the five-year commitment. Carrier supported nine reforestation projects in key ecosystems around the world. Implemented initiatives include:

  • 🔹 The Amazon rainforest in Brazil
  • 🔹 The Kaveri River basin in India
  • 🔹 Agricultural lands in Kenya
  • 🔹 A forest restoration project in California aimed at addressing damage from the 2021 wildfires (additionally selected by employees and stakeholders)

Volunteer mobilization

Nearly 500 volunteers took part in global tree-planting events. Combined, they contributed more than 1 600 hours of work.

Projected environmental impact

  • 🌳 CO₂ sequestration: 939 518 metric tons
  • 🌬️ Air pollutant removal: 2 045 tons

These figures are calculated over the next 40 years.
