An innovative outdoor unit
Samsung Climate Solutions introduced EHS Quint — the first on the market outdoor unit capable of simultaneously providing heating and cooling in air-to-air and air-to-water systems, as well as domestic hot water (DHW) production for year-round comfort in a single solution. The unit uses R32 refrigerant and can heat water up to 65 °C, supporting a wide range of applications in new buildings and renovations.
Key capabilities of EHS Quint
- 📌 The industry’s first “one outdoor unit — simultaneous heating, cooling, and DHW” configuration.
- ✅ Maintaining rated heating capacity at outdoor temperatures down to -15 °C.
- ✅ Connection of up to seven indoor units of various types.
- 🔹 Recovery of waste heat from the cooling process to heat the hot water tank, significantly reducing energy consumption for DHW production.
- 🔹 Five built-in climate modes combining heating, cooling, and hot water supply — for example, air heating in one room in parallel with water-based heating in another.
Flexible installation and compatibility
Installation is designed for fast integration: direct expansion is used for air-to-air systems, while for hydronic circuits there is a piped connection to ClimateHub or Hydrobox modules. The outdoor unit is compatible with wall-mounted, cassette, and ducted indoor units. The system includes leak detectors and shut-off valves, improving operational safety.
Centralized control
Full climate control and monitoring of solar energy generation are implemented through integration with the SmartThings app.
“We are focused on year-round use of homes, revolutionizing system design with a single outdoor unit,” emphasized Magnus Vikman, Product Manager at Samsung Climate Solutions.
