Large Heat Pump System in the Form of a Climate Tower

Towergy has developed a “climate tower”—a large-scale heat pump system capable of providing heat and cooling for up to 400 new or 200 existing residential buildings. The solution operates on renewable energy sources. The technology is intended for district-scale developments and retrofits.

Large Heat Pump System in the Form of a Climate Tower

Towergy GmbH has unveiled an innovative large-scale heat pump system in the form of a climate tower, capable of supplying renewable heat and cooling to up to 400 apartments in new-build projects or 200 residential units in existing building stock.

The rectangular climate tower is a powerful air-source heat pump with:

  • four-sided air intake
  • exhaust air discharge through the top section of the structure

The standard configuration already includes:

  • all required electrical equipment ⚡
  • pumping equipment

…enabling the unit to be connected directly to existing district heating networks.

The manufacturer offers a patented vertical design with integrated heating technology in 4 sizes:

  • heating capacity: from 0.3 to 1.5 MW
  • tower height (depending on version): from 11 to 14 meters
  • footprint area: from 3.8 × 3.8 to 5.6 × 5.6 meters
  • sound pressure level of the most powerful model at a distance of 10 meters: does not exceed 35 dB(A) 🔇

The intelligent control system analyzes:

  • weather forecast 🌦️
  • electricity exchange prices
  • expected district demand for heat and cooling
  • building characteristics for the next 72 hours

…and automatically generates an optimal operating schedule for the system.
