Samsung Climate Solutions is strengthening the connection between HVAC equipment and the Samsung ecosystem, focusing on the WindFree Wearable Good Sleep feature. This option allows WindFree air conditioners to be connected to Galaxy devices via the SmartThings app, creating a single space for managing the indoor climate at home.
The feature is designed specifically for nighttime rest. When Galaxy Watch or Galaxy Ring detects that the user has fallen asleep, the app automatically activates WindFree Cooling mode. The air conditioner smoothly adjusts operation throughout the night, maintaining a comfortable temperature without the need for manual settings. 😴
According to Ricardo Martins, head of HVAC Business at Samsung Electronics Portugal & Espanha, integrating wearables with HVAC equipment makes home management more personalized. He noted that this interaction via SmartThings helps adapt system operation to the owner’s habits and preferences at different stages of life.
WindFree technology distributes air through thousands of micro-holes on the front panel, eliminating direct blasts of cold air.
The air conditioners are also equipped with artificial intelligence that analyzes usage patterns and room conditions:
- quickly cools the space in Fast Cooling mode;
- then switches to gentle WindFree Cooling.
A similar logic is also applied for heating indoor spaces during the winter period.
SmartThings serves as the central control platform, allowing users to:
- control compatible air conditioners;
- set schedules;
- receive equipment status notifications. 🔔
